Wow the special effects

Were horrible.

To my regret I saw the movie today and kept watching it because I thought it would go somewhere, alas, no such luck.
And the CGI looks like it was made by some people from high school who won some price at the local K Mart to create these effects, horrible.

This was on dutch TV yesterday. I was /facepalm-ing half the time. This has got to be one of the worst things I've ever seen.

Supernova was a shameless rip-off of other films, including Deep Impact and Armageddon. Though the latter two films were made seven years earlier, their CGI and special effects were about 10,001 times better. This is a typical Hallmark film with the word "cheap" written all over the place. It is a poor man's Armageddon.

I've seen really good Hallmark films, like Snow White and Jack and the Beanstalk

I was disappointed.

And wasn't it wonderful how everything exploded into nice little polygons? I had no idea explosions due to fireballs would be so neat and geometric!

Obi-Wan is my hero!

I don't know, I love any movie with a disaster theme to it good or bad (and this one was bad). I especially like the disaster movies where the disaster was caused by us, for example "Them!" where the giant ants were caused by Atomic testing and the Category 6 & 7 movies where global warming were part of the cause. I have collected about 30 disaster films and the Hallmark ones are usually pretty good. I recorded Supernova on a dvd recorder so I could edit out the serial killer scenes, I mean really, what were those scenes doing in this movie. Anyway, we need more disaster movies especially in Australia, where I live because this place is too bloody boring especially the weather.

The scenes involving the serial killer were a rip-off from Cape Fear but they made absolutely no sense in the movie. Why should he take so much pains and travel long distances to get even with the woman witness, when - in just a few more hours - the sun would kill them all?
