I just finished watching this movie and it reminded me of this trailer I saw at this arthouse theatre. Its a movie about the dead emailing the living about what life is like on the other side and how the dead will come and kill the living so that they can take over the world. It was a J-Horror, but then two weeks after seeing that one trailer I saw another at AMC, it was an american horror movie with the same plot.

Any ideas on what I saw either Japanese or American version?

The Film you are searching for I believe is Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Kairo its english title is Pulse.

probably the american version since the jp version doesnt have dead emailing the living LOL wth is that (i did rememebr the description on imdb for the american version said that at one point, but i remember its (us version) plot changed so much that imdb now says "While the specific plot details are not entirely clear, 'Pulse' is a remake of the Japenese film 'Kairo'(2001)." instead of trying to guess their plot lol.

That would be Pulse american remake of Kairo where the dead come into the world of the living.
