Blooper alert....!!!

Is there something I'd missed? Wasn't the male psychic supposed to be deceased? Yet, when the couple go to his home and find his VHS tapes, the electricity is somehow still on and they are able to watch the tapes in a VCR.

I wasn't sure if the psychic was supposed to be dead or simply missing, either way, would the electricity still be on if a person hasn't paid their power bill in months...or years?! I gather the dark figure the couple saw on the floor and wall, was supposed to be the dead psychic.

Perhaps I saw an edited version? I saw this film on IFC.

Very few people have their electric bills pre-paid for years, even the very wealthy don't do it.

Of course, there are no newspapers which predict tragic deaths, it was a horror/fantasy movie. On the other hand because it was a horror movie, there was no need to have such a glaringly obvious 'blooper', such as the electricity still being on in the home of a long dead person.

It's not about me "moving on" or me worrying about it...it's about a script, at the very least, having some coherency. It's about a writer and/or director not insulting their audience's intelligence.

There are actually some viewers out there who need to feel they aren't having their intelligence insulted every step of the way.

Then again, the average movie goer seems to enjoy schlockly movies where they don't have to use their brains or intellect. Just bombard their senses with relentless noisy special effects for two hours, they'll feel they got their moneys worth!

No one prepays their electric bill, because the bill changes from month to month. There is no reason to assume that they aren't having the amount of the bill automatically withdrawn from a bank account month to month though.

Once again, I know some of you in this thread are having comprehension problems, the psychic was DEAD.

Their bank account, or checking account, most likely wouldn't still open. Auto billing for utilities or for any other bills, could not be done if bank and checking accounts were no longer valid.

"It's a movie. Think about it."

That's the point, I was THINKING!

Most movie plots don't have big gaping holes in them. A relative is a script writer, they always do lots of research, it's part of their job! They also don't insult the intelligence of the viewers with ridiculous or obvious ploy flaws..

I know this is rather belated, but if you wish flaunt your intelligence and scholorly mien, perhaps you might be taken a bit more seriously if you could use spelling- and grammar-checkers.
