In answer to your question.........
Yesterday is reconciled with her HIV+ husband & brings him back to the village from Johannesburg so he can live out his final days & die with relative dignity.
The villagers' however are not happy that the gravely ill man is living in their community & are fearful they might also become infected despite the teacher's assurances otherwise.
Unable to get her very sick husband admitted into the already stretched-to-the-limit hospital Yesterday then sets about constructing her own shanty "hospital" made out of corrugated iron & scrap metal which she builds (despite her own weakening health) outside the community to placate the grumbling villagers & it is there that the husband dies soon after.
Yesterday by now realising that her own days are numbered then makes a mental vow not to die until her young daughter starts school (the schoolteacher has vowed to look after the daughter when her mother dies) & the final part of the film is Yesterday poignantly looking through the school gates at her young daughter who is standing proud in her new school uniform & then the poor mother walks away knowing that she will never see her child grow up but more importantly that she has lived long enough for the very one thing that she wanted to see & presumably she can now die contented.
If you do get the chance to watch this very poignant but ultimately mesmerizing & thought provoking film then I guarantee that you will not be disappointed-I am still thinking about it with a lump in my throat several days later!
