I played this game with a couple of friends and initially we tried all the characters we could. Eventually we all fell into a niche. Mine was Iceman. He is extremely versatile. His melee is fast and has some power if you put points in cold crush, he gets some awesome armor, he puts out fires, he makes bridges, ice tracks lets him be mobile, he has a ranged atack (albiet a weak one) and he FREEZEES people! its so cool. Plus the puns; "He's so 'cool'" "That was 'cold'" and my favorite "'Ice' to see you"

I use Cyclops, Rogue, Jean Grey, and Iceman mostly. I'm playing the game for the umpteenth time and I'm using Rogue because the last time I used her, I dumped most of her points into FOCUS instead of STRIKE. Turn on the BULLETPROOF and wade through the badguys like water. I used her against Pyro and she did good. I should throw more points into ABILITY DRAIN, it's fun to use against bosses. She has the strength but I have to work on her speed.

I just got into the habit of using Wolverine, mainly because his healing ability is a major advantage. Gambit is my favourite character mind.

I used Cyclops a whole lot. Man, he has always been my favorite X-Man in the comics and cartoons.

Y'know, it's sad that he had such little screentime in the movies.

I haven't finished yet but I use Storm and Jean Grey alot because of their distance attacks and love using the Phoenix Force and Cyclone Fury options.
I also like using Jean Grey's TK Shields on the entire group to minimize damage during large attacks.

I use Wolverine, Cyclops, and Jean Grey the most. Nightcrawler is useful for getting into difficult areas, Beast is just cool and Emma Frost is a hottie. I hardly ever use naff Iceman, dull Colossus or that loser Gambit...

i use Storm the most as well as Rogue, she is good at destroying things. I used cyclops a lot during the Sentinal levels cause he was the best one i think for beating them.

Wolverine is the one I use most. He's tough, so his life doesn't drain as fast as some others, his claw attack can knock out some people with one shot, and he heals himself. I also use Storm frequently, because of her strength, and her lightning attack is just awesome.

I used Jean and Storm the most. But I did use Wolverine and Rogue quite alot. I don't see the big deal with Iceman. He wasn't that great in the game.

i pretty much always use cyclops and wolverine, the other two members of the team i pick randomly.

STORM

Because she can weld and has a bigger variety of powers than most others and her lightning can kill even energy ppl fast.

She is the best!

I used my all time favorites: Wolverine,Gambit,Rogue,&Cyclopes.

Mainly because i leveled them the most because i used them th most unless it called for a bridge being made. Wolverine is just the bomb an Gambit is from the south and so is Rogue. Cyke was cool because of his Optic Rage and because you fight his baby brother Havok .

I used Cyclops, Jean, Iceman & Storm.
Because of the leadership ability of Storm & Cyclops, they make combos count for even more points. Iceman & Jean can both build bridges. Storm & Cyclops can weld. I used the 4 of them all thru the game until Endgame. Where anybody could be used as long as I had Colossus with the Belt or Xorn(unlimited ability). With all his mutant powers maxed out, he's almost impervious to all of Mastermold's attacks. I had all my characters at level 45... (thou I got pissed when I realized that was as high as they could go) I have decided to play it again, this will be my 4th time.. but before I thought I'd be able to fill up everyone's points. Now that I know better, I'll be more selective with the points.

Dude I used Jean all the way! She totally rocks. I boosted her scream and telekenisis early and she was wicked strong. My other favorites were the totally awesome Gambit and Storm because her chain lighting (maxed out) kicks total ass!

Ok so the leader of my team has to be Cyclops. He is the best of the X-Men so its kind of given he would lead my team. Second is alway Jean because she is needed for building bridges and for moving objects. Third is Storm cause her leadership improves the chance of getting a combo attack and the lightning legend attack can take out all the enimies when health is getting low. The Last member of my team changes every so often, it switches between 5.
Iceman, he's good for bridges.
Beast, his pinball attack.
Wolverine, his is healing factor helps.
Rogue, her brutie force helps agains big groups. and
Nightcrawler, his leap of faith can come in handy.

I completely concur. Jean was meant to be something of a support character, but if you build her right, no power in the 'verse can stop her.
