For the people that couldn't see this..."nice" movie on the big screen, the Italian release of it on dvd is scheduled for the second half of next march. I don't know if it has english subtitles(the italian manufacturer, Cghv.it, is one of the worst in the world, so don't hope it, eh eh). Let's wait and see...if it's going to have them, I'll let you know on this post.

Dear Lyliakar...the fact that in Italy most of the people doesn't speak a word in English is a real shame, but don't worry, I went to a lot of countries around Europe(from Germany to Austria, from Czech Republic to France and Spain) and realized that, if you aren't in a place for tourists, or in a big city centre, nobody speaks english.
Cecchi Gori...how can I forget the incredible release of Heat, where there is NO ORIGINAL(english) AUDIO, but only the dubbed track?

dvd is now out, i watched it yesterday (rental version) and there are no english subtitles, only italian.
btw the movie is disappointing imho, one wonders where has benigni lost his writing talent.

enzo, i agree with you. the film is only "nice". i suspect that since benigni has won the oscars he's started making films only thinking of an international audience => he's making commercial films.
if we had had an italian hollywood, he would have shot this film right there.
but this time i have to say i liked nicoletta braschi's acting... when she was in a coma :)

I confirm what Enzo said: the DVD version you can find for sale in every Italian shop doesn't feature English subtitles. Only Italian.
If you don't live in Italy, or France, or Germany, you've got to wait your national screen release. For the Americans it looks very hard, because there's still no distribution deal there. Maybe Nicoletta Braschi wants too much money for this masterpiece?:)

Can I order this online somewhere? I don't need English subtitles, Italian audio with Italian subtitles is good enough for me (I can pause and look up words if necessary). Also my dvd player plays all regions so it doesn't matter if it's region 3. I haven't been able to find this anywhere, i watched a friend's bootleg copy but I really wish I could watch a version with Italian subtitles...
