I think the reason behind the similarities between La Tigre e la neve and La Bella e Vita is because Berlusconi was still in power as of 2005 (his reign ended in 2006) and Berlusconi was against anything that made fun of him and as a result of that- some TV personalities lost their shows. I think that's why Benigni used a similar plot for La Tigre e la neve. Until then, we can only hope what his next film will be about

yes, that what came to my mind while watching the film --- "Life is Beautiful Part 2"
but I still like it so much
I think I will rate it a 8 knowing that Life is Beautiful is 9


The world doesn't just disappear when you close your eyes, does it?

Tho tragedy and humour comingle in this film, and a certain overall 'feel' are similar to la Vita e bella, I still found them different, and the denouement really caught me by surprise!

This film was more in the real of TRUST (as stated in extras interviews) more than HOPE which was mostly what La Vita e bella was about. In this film he pursues what he does not have, in LVeB he only survives.

I rated la VeB 10/10 and this 9/10. The cinematography and script are excellent and he is superhuman, Benigni is truly the real deal. He handles so many aspects of his films.
