Back in the late 1800s a European professor wanted to know why bad people did bad things. So he went to insane asylums and prisons to interview inmates.

His research became the book "Psychopathia Sexualis" which was a best seller around 1900.

Bret Wood knew about the book and used it as inspiration to write the film script which he also directed. The film is a series of scenes from a few seconds to several minutes. Some scenes have no spoken words at all. Some have little movement. Paul Mercer's etherial music was written for the film and truly enhances it.
