is this as good as the original N64 game?

just want to know because i love the N64 one and i never played this one before

Everything has a reason. Sometimes the reason is you forgetting to pack your pancakes tight enough.

Eh, its good, I would put them on par with eachother. This one has a lot more fluid motion and new charater designs. And none of the original characters show up (at least from what I have played, I just bought it a few days ago and I'm about 3/4 done.)

I deeply hated this one. I thought the first one had a way better storyline. But then what do I know. I'm not even a quarter way through with The Thousand Year Door because I got so sick of it. But with the first one, I could play it for hours each day.

i cant put my finger on it but i really enjoyed the first one more. when i beat this one i didn't really feel like playing it again. but in the first one i had a much better time and could play it over and over again. even though its practically like the same thing...

I like this one better. I'm playing it my third time.

I think the first was a bit better. The chapters were more interesting, and the areas were more colorful, and bigger. Though, this one did have the better plot, and the party members had more personality.

I love the original N64 game. But I think this one is better. I like the storyline better and I find it to be funnier. One thing I didn't like is that is doesn't include more elements from the first game. I would have loved to have gone back to Toadtown, revisited the Goombas at Goomba village, meet Kolorado again, Have Jr. Troopa return. I felt it would have been cool if they brought back Popple from Mario and Luigi and make Jr. Troopa his new rookie, as they both have tried to kill Mario over and over again, with the same Popple battle music from Mario and Luigi, and have Mario and his team battle them once in the game.

This one is better in every aspect. More dynamic story-line (not the tired old "Bowser has kidnapped the princess" *beep* bosses are far more epic, dialogue is more intricate and funnier than the first one, chapters are more creative (especially 2, 3, 6, and 8), gameplay has more depth, longevity, and customizability, and above all: it's simply more fun than the first one.
