If not real the people in this film are the worlds greatest actors.

Just look at their expressions and movements.
They are all eligible for Oscars if they can do that at will.

Just listen to the guy who catches the restaurant thief.

That does of course not exclude exceptions were it is easily seen to be acted.
Also that does not mean that the concepts and history given is real (hard to say, can easily be mixed).

Using regular people and have them sign contracts afterwards is cheaper aswell, besides having more force.
