Ham Radio and Space

One of the reviewers could not believe that Ham (Amateur)
radio operators could talk to MIR, in fact, Amateur has been aboard MIR
almost since it's launch, is still currently aboard and used on the ISS
(International Space Station) and is aboard nearly all Space Shuttle
missions. A VERY large number of NASA astronauts are licensed Amateur
Radio operators. The shuttle and the ISS regularly conduct Q&A sessions
with school children around the world.
