Explain this...

If the hospital was supposed to be so full that they didn't have any room for any more patients, why was every room full of so many empty beds? Why didn't the filmmakers hire some extras to just lay around in all the empty beds to make the hospital at least appear to be full? Instead you have the actors saying how the hospital is so full but the visual images of a bunch of empty beds show otherwise.

"Enough of that technical talk, Foo!"

I don't think it was because there was no room at the hospital. I remember them turning away patients because they were severely understaffed and running out of supplies. Therefore they had no way to take care of any new patients.

Also, and empty hospital adds an atmosphere to a film like no other. It also further symbolizes isolation and the hopelessness of everything. The scenery and effects in this movie were absolutely perfect. Spectacular.
