Feels like Silent Hill????

Does anyone else here feel like this movie almost parallels the Silent hill video game series? Lightly colored rooms, unexplained characters with eerie, stiff motions... Also, notice through all the confusion, there is little yelling or screaming, just like in silent hill. I dunno if its just me thinking all this but give me your opinion. Thanks

Yes! There were some shots in the hall ways that felt very Silent Hill, it helped me like Infection all the more. All the bloody nurses running around helped too.

EXACTLY what my boyfriend said upon seeing it.

reply

Yes there is that SH feel to it. Awesome movie.

If I remember correctly, in the first Silent Hill game, the hospital level was quite different than the hospitals in later silent hills, in the fact that the nurses were infected with a parasite.

So yes, this reminded me of the first SH more so than the others.

This movie has the feel that the piece of trash Silent Hill movie should have.

reply

Lol. I liked the movie. Sue me.

---,

I won't rant, I just want to say I disagree with your comment on the Silent Hill film; I found it fantastic.
It felt completely like The Game(s)...until the "What the f--- does this have to do with anything." (last) half-an-hour or so. hmph. Though, it had the atmosphere [still in place.] just sort of not the direction I would had taken things. Hmph.
Amazing(, still[!].).

Oh, and yes. To add to the Subject, complete-so. From the first few moments of viewing [one of] the first words to exist in my mind were that of: Silent Hill.
...and I smiled.

"I have Fought this long for life...To only find Death comes from it..."

Agree. I will admit the movie was garbage, but The Games are so brilliant. If only the movie had the same atmosphere the games had, it would be perfect (That and a better plot.)

Some people count sheep. Doesn't work with AlwaysCool, just gets him excited.

The scene where the nurse is crying and the burns victim is shrouded with plastic - I believe I pointed and shouted "Silent Hill!"...and others agreed. Glad I'm not just crazy.

Definitely. I was thinking about it while I was watching the movie. I was hoping to see rust colored walls and a monster to pop out.

come on now... you can't tell me the SH movie didn't have any Silent Hill atmosphere? and the plot? pure Silent Hill! if it leaves you confused and wondering WTF just happened like the movie did, then it's silent hill. Konami was deeply involved from beginning to end of the movie...

it's not one of my favorite movies, but it's definitely Silent Hill...

Now, the acting and script (not plot)... that's a different story, and is what kept it from being an amazing movie. it's just "fair" in my eyes.

This movie was much better though. it goes to show you that you don't need a butt load of CGI to make a movie physiologically overwhelming.

I'm not familiar with the Silent Hill games, just the film. What this film does remind me of (a lot) is Lars Von Trier's The Kingdom.

Next time you see me, it won't be me

reply

yeah also the numbered doors reminded me that SH2 hospital level.

reply

Not really.
