Ashley tells Madeline she'll look good in Makeup cuz she's TALL???

When Ashely first meets Madeline, she says something about her wearing makeup, and how (Madeline) would look good in it, cuz she's "So tall".

Does anyone else think this MAKES NO SENSE?

What does height have to do with MAKEUP, you know???

Are you wearing make-up?'Cause, you could wear more if you wanted to. You're so tall. I'm fair. But, I like to experiment with a lot of different looks.

I think it's more Ashley's stream of consciousness than her making a connection between height and makeup.

-I sorta assumed this too.

But then I also wondered: was she THAT tall lol? To be fair, I never zoned in on any scene where she stood next to anyone, so maybe she was. Whatever.

Ashley is talking from her own perspective.If you go to the Junebug page, and click on the two actresses, that information is usually given in their biographies.

Just 4 inches difference lol.

I'd no idea Amy Adams was only 5"4. She looks taller, which I guess means she's skinny lol.

Maybe because in her mind models are tall and wear a lot of makeup. I think it was just to make Ashley seem more childlike and endearing.

That is a good point. Ashley certainly sees Madeleine as elegant and exotic, and she is tall enough and slender enough that she could use makeup to make herself truly beautiful like a model.Ashley may well see a shorter woman tarting herself up with a lot of makeup as not quite pulling it off. So, I think what Ashley said does make sense although I don't know whether it is true or not.
