Why...

Why did they put in the title that it was inspired by a true story and then mentioned the horse the story was inspired by halfway through the film? I just don't understand. And was I the only one that noticed that most of the men in the film were obsessed with money and how Mr. Crane seemed to have an anger problem? Please don't post any hate in this thread. I am just honestly curious if you guys noticed this as well and what your opinion on them were.

I've got spoilers here so be warned.

I didn't mind the film at all thinking it was based on a true story (who wouldn't with that title?) but then I discovered that virtually the whole story was made up. The horse the film was based on didn't win the Breeders Cup Classic and in fact didn't even run in it. Also there was no little girl owner. I really feel let down by that. :(

If it didn't say it was inspired by a true story then that's a different thing.

I'm glad that someone else was bothered by these things.

Because it is INSPIRED by a true story. Not 'based on' one.

They took basic elements from a real event and fictionalized the details.
