Are you serious....

From the beginning of the movie I loved it. It was well made and wall acted. Even a good soundtrack.
But I have to say that was the worst ending ever, or at least very close. There were sooooo many loose ends.

Am I the only who thought it left alot to desire at the end as far as explanations and resolutions went?

I totally agree.
Once the end credits came up I was like, "WTH? That's it?"
It felt like only 30 minutes the entire movie.
Well, to me it did.
I wish they'd tie up the loose ends.

For a film that was shot in 20 and a half days, and only runs 86 minutes, they tied things up pretty well. After losing "it" with Beagle, it's clear Georgia will continue to live life on her terms as long as she possibly can. When Guy watches Stephanie from outside her place, while she holds her child and kisses Tom Cavanaugh it's pretty obvious she has moved on. Then Guy faces his guilt over leaving his mom prior to her death by sitting with her at her gravesite. It's anybody's guess if Marg and Easy get married.Easy tries to smooth things over with Beagle in the kitchen as they sit down to dinner.Life goes on.

I agree about the ending I also sat up and went WTF!!!

I think for me, it wasnt so much that things werent resolved, but more the fact that not much really happened.

There werent too many major events in the film, it kinda felt real flat. That was probably the point of the movie, I dont argue that it was constructed really poorly or anything, just that there should have been more to it.

Well nothing except for:
a family dealt with the death of their wife/mother
Beatle discovered his father had been unfaithful to the mother he cared for, and made a once in a lifetime connection with another person.
Guy discovered you don't always get a second chance and that the love of his life has moved on.
And a terminally ill girl lost her virginity.

But other than that, there weren't any major events. :)

Certainly the manner in which the story was told was not action packed, and I think that's what you're trying to say. But in terms of the lives of the characters we see, this small period of time we see them is substantial - monumental in the effect it will have on the rest of their lives.

I totally agree with you that the ending just left us hanging.....I couldn't believe it ended like that with so many unanswered questions! And why was Melissa Leo never seen in the movie?

Did anyone feel lead to believe that the hairdresser's daughter was intended to be Guy's child? She looks too old to have been born very long after Guy left three years previously.

Bam said the lady.

I thought it might be his.

this movie was a slice of life, life doesn't tie up loose ends.

I felt the ending was ok, tied up some things about the characters. Georgia lost her virginity which was what she was intending. Then I think she appreciated Beagle a bit more, where before she said about sex she just wanted to get it done, experience it. So I feel that she and Beagle learned something more about life than just sex.

Beagle and his father Easy did some patching up of things at the end. And it appeared that Beagle began to do so with his brother too. The last scene as they prepared dinner was a lot more harmonious between them than before.
We have to wonder about Easy and Marg, if they'll continue as is or get married, like Easy wanted.

There was actually a lot going on in this movie, though it was not action or flashy. More like real life issues, illnesses, happiness and sadness. Lots of sadness to work through with Easy losing his wife, and his sons losing their mother.

Georgia's mom had to begin accepting more that Georgia needed to be more independent, as much as she could be, given her illness. Very difficult for the mom, and understandably so.

I didn't find the ending lacking, in fact it was pretty satisfactory as far as endings go for this kind of movies.

I liked that Kristen's character decided to keep the relationship going on even after "getting rid of it".

I liked how the old man admitted he couldn't be around his wife in her last days.

And I liked the family reconciliation scene in the end.

I think all the important stuff was wrapped up. Good movie.
