Shooting Birds

The shooting of the blackbirds out of the apple tree looked disturbingly real. It seems to me that they were actually blowing away birds on camera. I am hoping someone can tell me otherwise.

Wether real or not, the shots of the birds exploding were cut-shots. The actors "skill" level with a gun would have absolutely nothing to do with. The actor was not even likely there when the shots of the birds exploding were made.

Some countries have very different laws about harming animals in the making of films. It is not unknown for animals to be destroyed in French cinema.

In short, thanks for your response but I don't think you have any idea what you are talking about.

They had bird trainers come in from Czech Republic, to do some of the scenes with the birds, but of course they didnt shoot the trainers pets :D

That part was cgi i guess.

I thought all the shots involving birds were the most obviously fake in the movie.

And what about that neo-nazi follow up-guy of Adam, that got shot, I believe three times. What was up with that?

The neo-nazi follow up-guy of Adam?
Now that shooting WAS real. They blew the special effects budget on fake crows which meant that they had to shoot a cat and a neo-nazi FOR REAL. They got in a sharp shooter so as to avoid vital organs etc.
