the song

what was this song that the radio kept playing? "Den bløde pop sang"

reply

"How Deep Is Your Love" originally by The Eagles. It's a cover version in the film and I do not know by whom.

reply

Take that is the group that is sing the song that your hear on the car radio. A bee gees cover.

reply

Just to sum up the two last posts:
It's "How Deep Is Your Love?" by the Bee Gees.

The owner of a hair-do like Billie Joe's

reply

but it's performed by Take That, of course.

reply

Are you sure? I could have sworn it was the Bee Gee's original...

reply

In the credits it says: written by (Gibb/Gibb/Gibb), performed by Take That.

So it's the Take That version. I think the reason is, that it was much cheaper to use the Take That version than the BeeBees version.

reply

Yes, its Take That, but no – the reason why they used it
is surely not because the BeeGees version was more expensive.
Makes no sense, since the original copyrights are held by the
BeeGees anyway. In comparison to the BeeGees, Take That don't
even have too much of a profit doing the cover version.
It's always the Gibb brothers cashing in.

I personally believe, he used the TT version, because it has
more actual relevance to the audience (eg. agerange),
and, because its a very cheesy popsong, that has been a huge charthit.
Still, the name of the song perfectly illustrates the synopsis of the movie.

Nice concept, if you ask me.

reply

The lyrics are slightly different.
Original (...)i feel you touched me in the pouring rain(...)
Take That version (...)i feel you touched my hand in the pouring rain(...)

Maybe they thought the TT versions lyrics fitted their intentions better...

reply

The lyrics are quite important - "you're my light in my deepest, darkest hour" etc. All goes back to the Book of Job, on which the whole film is mostly a play.
