Well Will, I personally dont think you missed much. A few jokes, a bunch of thank yous, and women in low cut dresses. You can find the winners on most any related web site and even pictures of the women in low cut dresses can be found on this and other web sites.
I do agree with you that the release of these shows on DVD would be nice in case someone missed a thank you or fell asleep or in your case "screwed up your vcr recording."
If you have any luck getting a tape from the network, let me know. There are some shows I missed and would like to go back and watch.

Just wondering if you did find a copy of the 2004 emmy awards. It seems strange that you can't buy a copy but apparently one can't. I would like to the see the show so I would appreciate any help in that endeavor.

You can check torrentspy if you use bittorent. Otherwise install Emule and do a search. You can get it off the net quickly. Too bad they don't sell DVD's of the show. They would make some major cash.
