Yeah, I totally agree. Everytime she's on the show I shudder- imagining what she's going to be like when she gets older! Yikes! Someone needs to discipline that child, quick!

Its the parents fault also.. they need to put their foot down.. like the episode where haley wanted to donate their old toys and clothes but sydney didn't want to.. she should've explained to her a little more that she no longer needs them and that other children need it more than she does.. but she just ignored it and moved onto the toys.. but yeah you guys are right she is gonna be a little biatch..

That is the stupidest thing i have ever heard of.

First of all there is a difference in being greedy and spoiled, Secondly you don't need money to spoil children. Thirdly just because someone has a lot money doesn't give them an excuse to not know about poor people.

Kudos! Who says she's going to grow up to be a spoiled and snobby brat? She already is. She learned it from Haley.

Children immitate and emulate those around them. Haley is worried about Sydney being concerned with her self image and worried that she knows designers--gucci. Who taught her this? Where did she learn it? Haley!

Haley always whines to Dr. Rey, and of course Dr. Rey is busy with his practice, and pampers them both. I think his absence is destructive to Haley and the children, and he can't buy what they need most -- his presence. Haley could complain less, and Dr. Rey could provide is family with more emotional guidance and be involved.

She is a brat. She wanted to keep EVERYTHING in the boxes. Hailly should have giving the boxes away. The little girl most likely forgot about the things in the boxes.

All I hear in my mind when I am reading this thread is a direct quote from Sydney herself:

"OH MY GOD! I'm Beautiful! I look just like a princess!!"

I believe this was from the very last episode. You can't expect a daughter of a plastic surgeon to not be at least a little self concious of her looks, even at 5. I've seen an episode of Oprah talking about this very subject!

Yea I agree, I rekon she'll grow up to be just another one of those rich Beverly Hills kids who don't have to work and get everything handed to them! Like the episode where Dr Rey and his wife were sitting at the table in their old house and Sydney hit her dad cos him and Hayley were having a disagreement and Hayley didn't even growl her! What is up with that!!! I rekon she's a little brat that kid who is completely unappreciative and spoilt!

I feel same as others in one sense, what I mean is, it is pretty obvious that the child Sydney is growing up valuing the wrong things.
I have seen the episodes you all were speaking about and the things she said spoke loud and clear.

I think also that comments by BlondeCheerleader were those of someone with only the viewpoint that she has though. As she said, if you are friends of the Rey's I think that's great. They seem like a great family but I do see where Sydney needs more guidance.

Now really the issue here is where her Mom AND Dad come in. Like was said before, in the episode where she is giving away some toys and things, I see how her mom might have had that idea and that's good. But I think it would have been good to counsel the child more to appreciate what she does have and to have more of a giving and kind spirit.

I do see that she has some selfishness but that does come with getting what you want all the time. That is where her folks come in. I don't see it as a child's fault at all, so of course that lies with the parents to guide their child into being an appreciative well balanced person.
My hope is that they will do that more and really their daughter in the long run will be more thankful to them for a better job they do with her.

Also, I have seen some of the same un-apppreciative, me first type of attitude (to some extent) from Haley. Perhaps she doesn't mean to but maybe sometimes a self analysis is good for the soul, to reassess herself.
It's my hope that Haley will guide her daughter in the right way to contribute to society in that way, is a really decent honorable and good thing to do.

yes,she's a brat like most kids in her situation. she has a weekend father. her mother is clearly depressed and guilt-ridden, what with her neglectful husband, crumbling marriage and unfulfilled life. does sydney even go to school? poor parents with bratty kid? how about poor kid with bad parents?! at that age, there's no such thing as a bad kid. just bad parents.

Did you notice how she has that same nasal whine as her mother? They sound exactly alike. It's too bad the kid doesn't stand a chance to grow up with normal values, but living where she does and the environment she's growing up in, she will fit in beautifully.

I'm hearin' a new up to date version older,and still funny dr. rey is comin'soon i am happy.

he is now into his upper to late 40s now,and the wife haley still wit her rich $$$
success funny hubby so i am glad.I want to see how the kids are. i m sure the ratings,
will sky-rocket as during the mid to late 2000s.
