Father of The Bride

It kind of reminds me of Father of The Bride. It starts out with the Dad doing a voice over through most of the movie starting at the place of the wedding. Then him being very surprised about the engagement and being announced on a surprise visit home. Then Dad becomes friends with male wedding planner. Then wedding cost a lot of money- Dad has some sort of breakdown. Then wedding comes around something goes wrong the gets fixed and get back to shot that started out the movie.

When I first watched this movie it totally reminded me Father of the Bride but times 3. I guess they did it to avoid legal issues. But it is still a good movie and loved the building of each character. I really like the 1st and 3rd daughters' hair and dress during the wedding.

It was defintely a knock-off of Father of the Bride. It was so similiar, it wasn't even funny!

reply

Except Father of the Bride was funny.

reply

EXACTLY...Father of the Bride x3. That's it in a nutshell, lol. Though you can clearly tell it was inspired by FotB, which is one of my favorite movies, I still really enjoy this one. Especially for a TV movie, it's quite good and very touching in itself. The concept of all three sisters getting married at the same time (kind of like the mom and daughter both having babies at the same time in FotB 2) is great.

reply

Uh, yeah, definitely a knock-off. I couldn't help but feeling like I'd seen this movie before whilst "sort of" watching it.

THIS MOVIE IS NOTHING LIKE FATHER OF THE BRIDE!! OR FATHER OF THE BRIDE PART 2!!

This movie is like Father of the Bride part THREE, TIMES THREE!!! In the video store I almost settled for Father of the Bride but thank god I found this movie! This movie has 3 times the weddings, and three time the whackiness! I, thankfully, recieved three times the joy and got to watch three times the Italian. Or plus one because 0 times 3 is still 0. THIS MOVIE ROCKS!!!!!!!!

PS anyone else get the vibes between their dad and Sam? I understand why, HOT BALDING SAM! I'm willing to be he slept with everyone in the family, even Lyle.

So hard to believe that I couldn't see

You were always there beside me

reply

Sam was a slob. He couldn't even get his hair cut for the big day.

reply

Totally, totally, totally. First thing we all thought of, I assume. ^^

I kept waiting for Steve Martin to appear. I'm not trying to be mean, but it felt like the poor man's version of one of his films.

reply

Yeah, me too. Actually it reminds me of Father of the Bride meets All My Darling Daughters.

reply

Yeah, except - personally - I prefer this one to Father of the Bride. As I recall, Steve Martin never got to say goodbye to his daughter in person until the sequel... still haunted me after all these years. Wedding Daze was much more full-circled.

John Larroquette makes everything better.
