Sequel?

I would love to see a sequel to this game set in the Original Trilogy time period. Star Wars: Rebel Commando or Star Wars: Imperial Commando (Either one, or hell, both), following the same squad-based format.

reply

well rebel commando might not work, cause the delta squad had the top of the line weapons. Rebels, have outdated crap.

reply

so would i
the first one was fun but it was a little 2 short for my liking

reply

no, rebels can get good weapons too. and jedi could use the force to make iumperial commandos work with them. THE CROEN.

reply

NO if they make a Republic Commando 2 it should be Delta Squad helping the invasion force on Kasyyick or however the hell its spelt. and then it would move on to Corasaunt driving the droids off there and then go on to hunting the Jedi down, and maybe a reunion with Oh-Seven

reply

A sequel wont go good for this since Episode 3 is out and it will mess up the story line for it
What were you expecting something special

reply

The ending suggests a sequel. If there is i hope it has more levels cos i finished it in three days on all difficulties. Maybe it should be called Starw WArs commandos and has the invasion of Kashyyk and then u could play for either the rebels or the republic

reply

That is like Battlefront

I would want the sequel to be more of a prequel - with a different squad of commandos and missions on different planets that featured in the Clone Wars.

Would've like to have seen what became of Sev, though.....

reply

There is just so much material to work with. I think it would be great to be part of a boarding party flying through the battle in the beginning of Episode 3, board the ship and go forth. Part of the invasion of that hole planet (Where Obi-Won(sp?) is when the storm troopers go nuts).
Some other stuff in between.

Doesn't even have to be Delta 36. I could be any Republic Commando.

About being an Imperial Commando killing rebels: Wouldn't you just feel guilty? In RC you are killing Droids and bugs mostly. Rebels are people though (so stabbing them would feel especially bad)

reply

i feel more bad thinking that these guys become bad in the end :( uve helped a group accomplished somthing that the sith can take right back in the end. But anything could work for a sequal or a prqual but as people said above uthere wont be much material to use

reply

NO, You're All Wrong. The Croen.

In the book "Dark Lord: the rise of Darth Vader" (http://www.sffworld.com/brevoff/246.html) a Commando squad disobeys order 66 and helps their jedi get away.

Republic Commando 2 could involve another squad that's gone rogue and is now on the run.

Just a thought.

reply

I agree. As I understand it there are discrepancies (is it spelled this way?) in the clone program. First they noticed individuality developing within the ranks of troopers. They first tried to combat it but later accepted this. Why couldn't the "order 66" fail aswell? It would be cool if an entire squad of commandos joined with the rebel alliance with all their training and equipment.

Look at the ending of RC. They were willing to disobey orders to help Oh-seven from being overrun. But they chose to obey orders, barley. How about when a close jedi friend is to be shot and they just don't have it in them to do this because of the failure to help their comrade before.

Oh-Seven should be rescued in some manner, it would be a shame otherwise since he was one of the coolest, if not THE coolest commando of the squad and was, in his own way, funny too.

Star Wars Crusader. "The Force: An elegant weapon for more civilized sentients"

I'd rather see an expansion pack. My gripe is that the introduction was fast. If they made a nice little back story for 38 that be nice. Now I'll know what are the relationship with the whole delta aquad. The game should have included the training facility and you can explore the whole place. The brief glimpses of the training is short.

reply

yeah the training facility would be nice
and if they disobeyed order 66
and helped the rebels and jedi
and maybe so could omega squad (read the books :p )
i think that would be cool
but theyre couldnt be a prequel pplz!!!
cuz it started on geonosis
the first place the clone troopers were!!!!
and commandos
but it could show theyre missions they had inbetween those...
(like the one with omega squad in the book :p)
or a totally dif sqaud would be cool tho i like delta....
idk....
anything would be cool!

Well I would like, that delta squad would be so pissed that sev died, that they would join vader's side, at the end they would find sev held in the death star and the 3rd SW:RC would have them attacking the empire again :D

reply

well in the book triple zero sev is alive and well and that comes after the game so somehow he managed to survive

If they were to make a sequel (Which I really hope they do). It should take place at the exact same time frame as the first one, only form the Point of View of another squad. The game starts up with Genosis but your a different squad with different objectives, in a compleatly different part of the battle. Then after Geanosis, insted of the ship mission you have some other random mission. Followed by the invasion of Kasyyyk, (after delta force has already been there). You play through the invasion and then come across Sev being taken away by the droids. Boss comes on and tells you that you have a new objective to rescue him. You follow the driods taking him away and sneak aboard the ship that thay are taking him away in. This brings you to another planet where there is a massive POW camp. You have to infiltrate it and get Sev out. Once you do that, one of your other squad mates feels guilty about leaving all the other prisoners here, so you decide to free them as well. Once their free you hijack an enemy troop transport, load everyone on and fly away, only to encounter a blockade just outside the planet. A space battle breaks out where you have to get through the blockade...only to discover another transport of POW's being brought to that planet. This starts a new mission where you and one other squad mate board the ship and and fight your way through to free those prisoners and get them back on your ship. Then you break the blockade and fly back to main base.

I dunno, I think it would be cool

dude that sounds really awesome

When life gave Jack Bauer lemons, he used them to kill terrorists. Jack Bauer hates lemonade

reply

Meh wouldnt be the same without Delta Squad also it was the Trandosians that took him not the Droids

reply

Whatever the story is, i just want the sequel! how long are we to wait lol!

Here was my idea for a sequel.

Ultimately, when Order 66 comes around, Delta is sort of on the fence about it. Initially, they follow orders, even kill a few Jedi, though with hesitation.

But upon witnessing the Invasion of Coruscant, they're ultimately horrified by what they see. Since they were already on the fence about it, this is the final push for them, and they rebel.

Being as bad ass as they are, they're still missing Sev, a rookie being his replacement. And they're up against nearly impossible odds.

Rookie believes a little too much in Order 66, and ultimately they ditch him once they find Sev. (I never really elaborated how, where, and when they find Sev, but yeah, my idea involves them getting Sev back.)

They're half 'on the run' and half 'screwing the Empire up'.

Granted, in the end, they can't completely foil the Empire's plans, since that would screw with canon, but they would definitely put a major dent in one of the Empire's operations.

Coruscant would definitely be a major locale, though Delta would be visiting other planets in their campaign, ultimately, Coruscant (maybe the Jedi Temple to be specific), would be the setting for their finale, or something. lol, I didn't put a whole ton of thought into this, but you should be able to get the gist of it.
