Sucks huh?
Okay, for all those of you who say the Sandlot 2 was nothing like the first...well true. It had different characters and added girls and rockets, yeah completely different. BUT IF THAT'S ALL YOU CAUGHT FROM WATCHING THE MOVIE...STOP WATCHING MOVIES!
Let me explain,
Sure, the movie was defiantely not as good as the first, not may sequels are. However, what is the main purpose of a movie? TO TELL A STORY. The Sandlot 2 is not about baseball, not about rockets, not about first love, as the first movie was not about baseball or beating the team. The Sandlot 1 was about FRIENDSHIP. The Sandlot 2 was about (OVERCOMING YOUR) FEAR. Of course the movies had all of the other stuff in there, otherwise it be quite short.
I will say that though the story fits, it's a bit weak in where the director was wanting to go, but he was able to surpass that, with only a minor deversion. Also while the kids in the movie wont win any oscars for their performances in the movie, they aren't bad at all...they aren't the best but they aren't awful either. ACTING is in the DETAILS and if you go back and watch it, watch for the details of the actors...they're fairly good. Also normall every movement or shot and/or shot is usually planned in a movie, if hear the commentary on the DVD of the Director WHO IS ALSO THE WRITER he wrote a lot of stuff on the fly, which may have hindered somethings, but you get a realistic feel for kids being kids not kids being paid to be kids!
David Mickey Evans tells a story, is it the best? NO. Is it entertaining? to me, yes. Remember we are entitled to our own opinions and no one is wrong in thinking the movie sucks, but I disagree with those people.
