Can anyone tell me why Freddo in the movie is interpreted as Ice?

Please tell me. Is there any reason for him to name such a nickname?

In the subtitles, at the beginning of movie, four children in the cabin also talk about a nickname of police hit by their car, kind of "Police snagged Pus". What does this mean by this nickname?

Thanks

I think that if it was a literal translation, "Freddo" would become simply "Cold", which doesn't work that well as a nickname.

In Italian, he was also called "il Freddo" which would then translate to "the Cold One", but that would be a bit clumsy.

"Ice" is probably more in keeping with the spirit of his nickname.

As for the one about "pus", I am not sure about that one.

in the french version he is called 'le froid' (the cold) - which is both a play on his name as well as his very chilled-down presence. the name struck me as appropriate although i did not know about the italian meaning of the name. Same with 'Nero' (le noir), le libanais etc.

Nero referrs to him being a nazi, libanese refers to libanon hashish
