Does anyone have the Hong Kong DVD for this? I got mine today and theres this little DVD thing that keeps popping up on the bottom right of the screen. Is this on all of the DVD's?

Buddy I hate to say it to ya but you have actually one of the bad copies of the movie. My bought the same one you got cause it was cheap. you won't realize this cause you have no other DVD version of this to compare it to but the picture quality of this sucks. It black level of this movie was brought down alot and If I am right yours is embedded with englsh subtitles that cannot be removed and it 2.0 dolby stereo. Mine on the other hand is the 2- disc from zoke pictures which is 5.1 dolby digitall and DTS and 16x9 widescreen. here if you want to go to this site and you will get a full description on what every version contains www.hkflix.com.

Well the disc appears to be legit but my guess is that they used negatives from a bad reel. and the way it looks it might have been copied from a 2-disc VCD wich are always poor quality. Let me ask you this when the princes was a little girl and she meets the witch for the first time. Does the witch voice sound faded but not the little girl? in any case if it is quality that you want go to the site I wrote on top but when you do type in the words wu ji. This is as informative as I can get so I hope you get what you want but remember stay away from the U.S release.
shareI don't think it was copied from a VCD (I have some Godzilla films on VCD), the quality looks better than a VCD. I'll get stills as soon as I can. Is the US release Edited?

Yes it has been edited. WB cut 20 mins of the film making some of the charecters one dimensional. and as for the VCD you are right but the the movie was broken down in to 2 disc 1 had 102min and the 2nd has the other 20mins but the company that sold you yours managed to put both disc together. This information was found on hkflix.com. And it's the only version that has the little title popping out every 20 mins. Just go to the site I told you and you will see they will tell you what each version has. Wether the film was cut down or if it has bad picture quality.
shareI took it back to the store where I bought it, and they were amazed by it. They gave me anohter copy that looked totally different. I popped it in and it is the ZOKE Entertainment copy. It's one disc but unlike that version I bought, it has 3 audio tracks (All Mandarin - 2.0, 5.1, & DTS) with Chinese and English subs. Also, that crap doesn't appear on the screen, so CHEERS!
