Chinese films/TV critics on the web are stupid.

I read many of the ney sayers' comments on some Chinese web sites about this movie. They are full of non sense.

They must be the same web thuds that are bad mouthing the Mainland Chinese TV shows. Boy, are they dumb.
Every time Mainland Chinese makes a martial arts TV series, these thuds would start screaming curses and insults on them, and start praising the similar series made by Hong Kong.

Recently, there was a martial arts TV show called "Return of the Condor Heroes" made by Mainland China. Again, there was huge amount of insults thrown at the personels involved. And there was all kinds of praises for the same titled series made in Hong Kong -- "it is classic", "the best thing on earth", "people really knew how to act", "blah blah blah".

This time, I got really curious, and borrowed a set of VCDs of the Hong Kong version. I then proceeded to watch both versions side by side.

Oh my god, what a piece of junk from Hong Kong. Whoever made this did not know a thing about lighting, did not know a thing about creating/enhancing moods with colors, scenery, and music. And certainly did not know anything about cinematography/photography at all.

And that was acting? No. The stars in the series were making faces thourgh out. They did not know how to act at all. For example, whenever they want to show someone is smart and thinking, the actors or actresses would roll his or her eyes, then ding, an idea pops out of his/her mouth. God, it is awful.

Actors must convince me they are the characters in the movies or TV shows. They do that by showing the feeling of the characters. In other words, act natually with their feeling and hearts. I am not a bit convinced by the Hong Kong stars that they are the characters in the show.

How can people even compare this with the beautiful Mainland version? Yet, the critics on the web are trashing the Mainland version and singing all kinds of praises for that piece of junk from Hong Kong.

Question: Are these web thuds really that dumb? Or are they getting paid to bad mouth certain people?

Hi, StreetLighter,

There are at least 10 adaptations of this novel. TVB alone had two.
The 1998 one by Singapore with Christapher Lee and Fann Wong was only one of the (at least) 10.

Gosh! Don't you know anything?

I was not refering to the Singapore version. I have not watched side by side and scene by scene with the Mainlnad version. I am not qualified to comment on it.

I believe he's referring to the 2006 version

Anyway, I myself have recently got into chinese tv series. I really enjoyed Lethal Weapons of Love and Passion and about to start on Twin of Brothers. Although i'm a bit confused as to what this post has to do with Wu Ji

Apparently, this poster has a problem with people who thought Wu Ji sucked. Hence, the bashing of anyone that expressed a contrary opinion on any film this poster likes.

Maybe I should be worried when I get to watch the Condor Heroes series =/
