How do I see this movie in the US?
Is this movie showing anywhere in the US? If not, how to I obtain a copy of it on DVD with English translation?

shareIt has a U.S. distributor, Outsider Pictures, whose web site says it is coming in May 2007:

I saw it in Vancouver last night; didn’t like it.
It's playing in Chicago now through mid July at the Gene Siskel Film Center. I saw it today and thought it was prententious and disappointing.
sharethe only good thing was the costumes.
lots of people left the cinema. very unusal in our local cinema/arts centre
It comes out on DVD Jan 8th
shareUnless you want to see the eviscerated print (the only one offered for distribution to Outsider Films), your best bet is to buy a foreign copy of the DVD. I'm still waiting on mine.
One comment that might help those of you who plan on seeing it, any film by Ruiz is going to be intellectually and formally a cinematic discourse on what it means to watch a film. In other words, he is always going to not simply have a subject (Klimt), but also, self-reflexively, the making of art and narrative itself will be part of what is explored. This can work very well with this type of subject matter, but, just as you would want to know a little about Klimt going in, you will get that much more from the film if you know a little about Ruiz.
It's available on Netflix "play now".
But I love Klimt & Malkovich and I'm glad I didn't waste a regular Netflix queue selection on it.
