Was Cole an aviator?

When Cole is introduced-did he have naval aviator wings on his shirt?

Cheers

Oh yeah baby, it's Stifler time woo-hoo!!

Those are Gold Naval jump wings. 10 parachute jumps qualify. 5 jumps qualify you for the Silver wings. Jumps wings are generally worn by those Marines and Navy Corpsman serving with Reconnaissance units. MOS 8652 - Reconnaissance Man, Jump Qualified (Vietnam era) and recently 0321 - Reconnaissance Man (Permanently assigned to Recon Unit).

I honestly believe Tyrese Gibson was outstanding as COLE. He stole some of those scenes with Franco. The last, "come join me in the Marines" was a show stopper. Not bad for a former male model.

As for Channing Tatum in "Dear John", that young man, also a former male model was truly outstanding in that semi-combat movie/love story. Very very believable. So I guess being a male model isn't what it used to be.

Well done, young men.

I didn't understand what that meant, pertaining to boxing or the Navy/Marines.

MOS 0451 - Parachute Rigger, wore them too.

Every person that served can be called a veteran, but not every veteran can be called a Marine.

No, he didn't have Naval Aviator Wings, since Cole was enlisted in the Marine Corps for three years before going to the Naval Academy as he says in his first speech to the company. Only commissioned officers can become aviators.

The badge he wore was the Navy and Marine Corps Parachutist badge, so Cole went to airborne school, then made five more qualifying jumps to earn the gold wings. Otherwise he'd wear the normal airborne badge.

He's also SCUBA certified as well. He's wearing a "bubblehead" badge above the jump wings.
