Science 101

This movie is one of the biggest letdowns of my life. "Aliens of the Abyss" makes you think that this is actually going to be about life in the deeps of the ocean...or at least a good, informed documentary about space exploration...well this is what actually the flick is about:

- Jim has got toys and isn´t afraid to show us!
- Jim has problem-solving capabilities!
- Jim is surrounded by yes-scientist and he tells them what to do!
- Jim provides us pretty much the only scientific mumble-jumble in the whole flick...now how ridiculous is that and in what position does that leave the other "scientists" in the film?
- Jim is GOD!!!

As much as I like his movies...after watching this I can really understand how people find it difficult to cope with the guy-- and what was that b.s. with his brothers? who gives A F U K about Jim Cameron´s brothers?!

My biggest complain is about the biology part. I guess you cannot expect more from this when THE BIGGEST EXPERT JIM COULD FIND IS SOME BIMBO PhD STUDENT FROM UC SANTA BARBARA....Not one single remotely interesting remark - even theoretical, since it´s obvious they don´t know what the hell they are looking at- about the life that is found down there.

I´d like to sum up some of the most interesting scientific remarks made by Cameron's All-Star Scientific Team:

- OWWWWW
- WOOOOOW
- That is so awesome
- My God! That is beautiful
- We diggin´ this place big time (???)
- I MEAN...This Animal does not even have a stomach. It cannot eat!!
- He´s putting his tentacles on the gripper! Oh that is cool!
- Look at that FISH!!! dO you see that GUY? - (well it´s not a guy, honey. you´re not at the club chilling with your ladyfriends)
- he´s like...don´t even mess with me!!! wow!! wow!!! (talking about a fish)
- the same *beep* OVER AND OVER about how this helps exploration of another worlds, oceans, planets, k-marts, etc etc.

And what´s this CGI crap they put at the end with that space squid coming out of nowhere? What´s this "The Abyss part II" travesty?

Some of the images are actually jaw dropping, but the whole COMMENT is too annoying to ACTUALLY ENJOY THEM...well Jim, the idea was really great...the result is just not too convincing.

keep it coming, though. just let others do the talk and be sure to bring someone who can actually say something remotely interesting.
