What was that?

The jelly-like creature near the beginning: flat, transparent, textured skin?, maybe a metre long. No visible eyes/mouth/openings. Some kind of blob inside toward one end that looked like a parasite. They said, "how is that even alive?"

Is it an identified species?

I believe it was the house of a giant larvacean. You can google the name and see pictures.

I don't know the excat species, but it was some sort of appendicularian.
