What the hell is James Cameron doing there?

I mean. SCIENTISTS... movie director?

No problem in participating, but, c'mon. "Look at that! This is, like, the ugliest fish in the world".

I know he was involved in the project and everything (did you see the part when a crew man says 'Yeah, Jim, THIS IS THE MOST BRILLIANT IDEA I'VE HEARD ABOUT THIS' - talk about hierarchy pressure).

What is this about? The average-family-entertainment character taking the place of a real scientist in doing the field expedition?

This is as replacing Dr. Allie Arroway (Contact) with... James Cameron.

Give the guy a break. Regardless of how he acts he is still human. He obviously loves the deep sea and unexplored areas of the ocean aswell as space, there's nothing wrong with him being in his own semi-documentry.

If I had as much money as him and had as large interest in exploring the ocean as he does, and was also a Director, I'd surely want to make a film about exploring the ocean and I'd want me to be in that ocean exploring it too, not just my camera.

Also, that WAS one helluva ugly fish!

i don't like quentint tarantula because his page takes too long to scroll through.

Heh. I guess you're right. It's difficult to manage the hierarchy thing, and it seems they cope well together. As a Doc, it doesn't have to be so scientific-serious. ANd well, it was a really ugly fish.

The more time he spends at the bottom of the ocean the less time he has to make bloody awful Avatar films. Everyone's a winner.
