Yep! I think AS is lighting a fire for them to speed up their production, but even if they don't, the fans will wait and come out in droves. The production values are so high now. A lot more of it should be streamlined.

The speed of production depends on how much money AS decides to throw their way.

The reason for the long hiatuses between seasons is because of AS and the limited resources the show has to work with.

They better! So many interesting new story lines are opening up right, there's just no way to resolve them in one season.

If you buy a ticket for a remake, you are the problem, not Hollywood.

Particularly given that this season is only eight episodes.

I think they screwed up this most recent deal. Averaging ten episodes a season is not enough time to do everything they need to. They felt burnt out after 13 though, so, maybe 12?

Considering it's been on 12 years and they did 6 seasons in that timeframe, I'm guessing if there is a season 7, it won't be until 2018 or later.

Yes, though expect George Martin to have finished the last volume of "Ice and Fire" well before it comes out.

I very much doubt that A Dream of Spring is going to be published by then, he's still working on The Winds of Winter.

I watched the whole 6 seasons and finished yesterday, I was a bit disappointed by how abruptly the show "ended".

I would love for there to be another season. I understand that they feel burned out, and I get it. I would be too in their situation. If they decide to end the show I feel like it needs to go out with a bang. Finish season 7 and produce a final made-for-tv movie to wrap up everything and give the gang a real farewell.
