Are the specials in continuity with show? Meaning are they non-canon?

I've never seen the tv specials. So I was wondering. Are they in continuity with show? Or are they non-canon?

The specials are totally in continuity. I pity the viewer who doesn't know that and watches them in DVD order, where they are treated like afterthoughts.

It's not so bad with a special like From the Ladle to the Grave: The Shallow Gravy Story (2011), which isn't so plot heavy. However a special like All This and Gargantua-2 (2015) is extremely plot heavy, and is liable to create considerable confusion if watched out of sequence.

Fortunately, the IMDb lists the "proper" order for viewing the various specials:

The Terrible Secret of Turtle Bay (2003) S1, Ep 0
A Very Venture Christmas (2004) S1, Ep 14
From the Ladle to the Grave: The Shallow Gravy Story (2011) S4, Ep 17
A Very Venture Halloween (2012) S5, Ep 0
All This and Gargantua-2 (2015) S6, Ep 0

That's pretty close to being correct. However, the Halloween special should technically be viewed after the first commercial break in the Season 5 premiere, What Color Is Your Cleansuit? (2013).

In addition, if you're a dog lover like me, I wouldn't advise watching the pilot, The Terrible Secret of Turtle Bay (2003), first. I'd recommend watching the pilot after Season 1, or maybe skipping it entirely.
