Does anyone know anything about this film?
Any information would be great.
sharemidnight eye has a review that just went up

don't know when it'll be available on dvd, though
i am watching it right now, it is a good film.
sharelol. so did i. finished it right now.
really, really great stuff. great colours, very polished blue filters and a very slick look. maybe not so sentimental and sad as tsukamoto would have desired but with a final scene that got me really depressed. i rate this as the best of the guy's movies (and i've seen them all).
yeah, im a huge fan of the directors work. i agree that this movie is him turning over a new leaf, the last scene seemed poignant to me....
i dont want to spoil anything for anyone but i guess i can identify with her choice.
I can't believe it. I started this topic over a year ago now and it still hasn't been released in the UK!
We always get Jap films too long after their released. Ghost in the Shell 2 also has yet to be released in any shape or form here.
Theres no earthly way of knowing which direction we are going.
no offense but stop complaining.
where i live there's not EVEN a small chance that this movie, or any asian movie for that matter, will be released.
not to mention tsukamoto is not so popular, as compared to, let's say, chan wook park or wkw.
why do you think DARPA invented the internets? for communication purposes...? ha!
i realise its 3 months after you said its still not released in the uk, but it has now been released in selected cinemas around the UK. I saw it last night in Edinburgh...but still no news of an official release for Ghost in the Shell 2...
sharethankfully shown in the "Asia Extreme" season at the European UGCs (now "cineworld").
Amazing. I must warn you: it takes some stomach at first (a bit like "el mar adelante", to which it could be compared... sort of), but then moves into more moving / romantic / surreal territory. Sublime last 15 minutes.
In a way, a startling departure from the director of "Tetsuo" (as in: less graphic violence) but then, the man has actually always been more subtle than his early cyber-punk efforts. An increasingly important director, to be sure.
The usual impressive performance by the great and subtle Tadanobu (spelling?).
Now, that's what I call cinema.
a japanese r2 dvd is out since more than half a year. got english subs, excellent picture and (the lim. ed.) gorgeous artwork, with translucent dvds.
