Had it been just a movie and not a musical. Especially had they not blended hip hop & rap with the music of the time.

shareThe movie was good because it was a musical. LOL. The Story was OK but I can say it wasn't the big selling point of this movie. The acting unfortunately wasn't great, BUT THE MUSIC, VISUALS N DANCING MAKES THIS MOVIE. Soooo much respect to the musical group Outkast. They are musical legends already and to do a movie with it's on style in a way, was AWESOME. I THOUGHT THE MOVIE WAS GOOD. Love how they mixed some what of todays music with an ol skool taste, and a historic past image of dancing and costumes. Good movie my friend.

and that was what it felt like for me, a bunch of music videos tacked together with a vague story. it's a pity i had high hopes with some of the great actors involved (ving rhames and terrence howard) and i've been an outkast fan for ages and as usual the music was GREAT!! i loved the way they mixed a jazz style with their usual sound and i thought they both handled the acting fine but as a movie it was crap, hopefully they'll do better next time or else stick to making music.
