Aaarggh!!! I missed this during its 2 week run in Sydney.

I was standing at a train station & on the huge TV screen in front of me came on this amazing spectacle. I thought it was for some new US action flick. But then the title, Tito appears & then I noticed that it was an ad for an upcoming film on World Movies, (our cable station for international cinema). I thought it would be Romanian. Later that night I logged on to the World Movies website & there was nothing at all about this film. So I googled 'Tito' + 'film' (It wasn't on Imdb at that stage). I eventually found a reference in Egypt & then a link to a clunky website, (which then improved in time). But I also noticed that it had only just opened in Cairo, yet here I was in Sydney, Australia watching an ad for it at a train station. The mind boggled.

So what happens, The Sydney International Film Festival starts, I bought all my tickets & I look in the papers scouring the regional cinemas out of interest & see 'Arabic Language film' Tito playing at Merrylands Hoyts. Aaarggh!!! The exact same time as the Festival. I'm spewing because it's slightly out of the way & it's session times conflict with every damn film I'm seeing at the SIFF. So naturally I missed it.

I so want to see what Arabic cinema does with western style of filmmaking. I think it's a great thing. International cinema should have a wide scope & play with all genres. Not just be relegated to arthouse cinemas.
