Graphic Love Scene *Part 2*

i would greatly appreciate the help of my fellow posters. in the big love scene "Romain" has with "Sasha" was i hallucinating or was Poupaud fully erect?
if so you very rarely see the lead actor in a legit film fully erect.

reply

i just saw the film. you do see his penis but it is not erect.

reply

He was indeed--at least, if this is the same version that showed at last year's Toronto Film Festival.

reply

It didn't look it to me, although I did see this some months ago so maybe I don't remember properly.

reply

i've seen it just now. i'm pretty sure he was fully erect.

reply

sure.

reply

i saw it today and i think not only was he erect but so was the other actor. i was taken aback by it as i wasnt expecting it...

Does it really matter anyway?

I have this love (or sex) scene in my pc,and watching about five times,my conclusion is that or mr.Poumpaud used a false penis,or he was really fully erect.Even in a little part, you can see the other actor (the blond one) accidentaly slap his feet on the member of the other actor. What I don't know if the penetration was real.
Thank god i'm not the only one that realized it!

P.S: sorry for my bad english.

I saw the film in the theatre, and there were indeed two erect penises in the scene. I definitley saw that! The question, though, is whether or not they are REAL erect penises. Ozon's fellow Frenchman, Catherine Breillat, is well-known for the use of erection prosthetics in her films, for example -- in fact, she not only uses an erection prosthetic but also satirizes her use of erection prosthetics in her movie-about-movie-making, Sex is Comedy. (Good film, by the way.) Perhaps Ozon got from her the idea to relieve his actors of the pressure of maintaining erections in the unnatural context of a film shoot by adopting the same trick. The scene, as it appears in the film, is too dark for me to tell.

And the camera angles used simply didn't allow the view to determine whether or not any actual penetration occurs on film. Which leads me to believe there wasn't any.

it's a dildo not real dick.
he glue it above the pubic hair.
so the placement was wierd.

Pause the DVD and you can tell easily.

reply

So, how did they achieve the effect?

reply

It is indeed a dildo. In the extra of the DVD, there is a moment you see the film crew handing the dildo to the actor.

reply

Oh I see...you can't see how they did it without watching the extras...it looks very realistic.

The scene shows very full erections on both men, but if you look closely and use some sense you can tell that they're prosthetics. The two penises are exactly the same size, shape and rigidity. Penises vary widely in both form and performance; it's practically impossible that any two men would have simultaneous erections so completely identical in every detail. Besides, these are two shy straight actors (obvious in the "Making of") in a non-porn movie, which makes any erection at all highly unlikely.

Well having seen the film again recently, now I think it wasn't a dildo at least with Melvil.

In an interview he did regarding the film he said that he had 'experimented' before but now was married. He also said his mother was gay and he grew up with transexuals etc so the role was nothing shocking for him. He said many years ago Ozon had wanted him to do a gay role with sex scenes, but he wasn't ready for it back then because he was too young.

I get the feeling, and this is just my intuition, that Melvil and Ozon had been lovers in the past and Melvil was very comfortable being naked in front of him... so maybe he did indeed get a real erection. Yes and in the interview he also said that the Sasha actor was quite nervous about the scene.

The truth is, who really cares if it was real or not! If it was real, great, if it wasn't, c'est la vie....maybe next time, hey
