If you liked Time To Leave you'll also like Hereafter

I saw a preview of Hereafter this week and my first reaction after the movie was "Eastwood has made a French film." Not just because part of it took place in France but the pacing and style was very reminiscent of a good French film. The same techniques in the wrong hands can leave you bored and desperate for the film to end.

In particular, it reminded me of Time to Leave. Both deal with death in a moving and profound way. Clint Eastwood and François Ozon in the same sentence. Who'd have thunk it?

Although both deal with life and death, but I think they are very different.
