Nope. I'm quite happy to enjoy and recommend big, dumb movies (I'm a big fan of Roland Emmerich, for instance), but this was just mean-spirited, which spoiled it. There's a fine line between disaster flicks where people get killed, and a movie that really takes pleasure in killing people in the most sniggering nasty ways. If you know the word schadenfreude, this is stuffed to the gills with it.

It depends what you like but if you like monster films and airplane crash films than yes it's a great mix of the two. Just don't take it seriously and you'll enjoy it.

I liked it a lot. But as others have said don't take it seriously.
