what's the deal with the American Marines Scene?

When they are at the castle, about five American Marines comes to the castle to deliever their equipment, what was the significance of that? Where they dead already and basically the Koreans were speaking to dead people..........

reply

Although I myself am quite bewildered at the ending of the movie there is a scene further to the end, where they find the US chopper that contained the bodies of the US soldiers.

So I believe we are to assume they are infact dead upon meeting the living ROK regiment.

reply

wait i thought the american soldiers we're killed after they met the korean soldiers

remember that time when you spit in my mouth when i was sleeping? well i was awake!!!

reply

Naw, they were dead and ghosts when they met the Koreans. Otherwise the discovery of their bodies would lack the spooky impact.

When darkness overcomes the heart, Lil' Slugger appears...

reply

no, the helicopter they presumably died in was covered in vines and plants, it was ghosts they were talking to when they first met them.

Well first of all let me start by introducing myself I am Segunda Wilson the actor who played the role of SFC Beck in this movie(the big black guy). The americans were not marines but acutually US army soldiers. I am a former soldier who was an actual communications sgt. It brought back some memories for me playing this part in the movie.

Hello there Mr Wilson, if you were an actor in this film then perhaps you can explain the movie to us people? There was some confusion on the plot and perhaps you could shed some light on it. By the way, what did your character mean when he said he was "from c&e"?

reply

Just a side note the Americans 'only come at night' as they can't fly in the day because of the fog... yet when the Kroeans evac helicopter comes it cannot come at night but must come in the morning.

The hint was the helicopter flying over head when there was a no fly zone (very common even to this day) in the area. Then later the soldiers came. A reprise of an earlier event. Like the girl popping up and disappearing in the lightning storm. It's a very atmospheric movie. Even though the plot is a little thin.

Ghosts brought them beer.
