what kind of dog?

Does anyone know what kind of dog Mother Theresa is?

having raised 5 newfoundland dogs.. i would say that is most DEFINIETLY a newfoundland. Depending on their paternity and location they can range from small dogs of 130lbs right up to 200lbs.. depending on their stature and gender. Colours also very as well, some are ALL black, some are a salt n pepper mix of black and white, or you can get all brown versions (they are fairly rare and called 'bronze').

It was a Newfoundland dog. I got to say that that dog was so cute and probably my favorite part of that movie:]

Hello,

My wife and I just saw the movie. This dog looks just like our dog, who is a flat-coat retriever. Flat-coat retrievers are decendents of the Newfoundland and Labrador retrievers. Google search Flat-coat retrievers, absolutely beautiful, you will see the similarities.

Sagge-2 you're an idiot! Two reasons....besides being completely wrong in your short and rude comeback, you didn't bother to explain why and maybe help the person with what you thought was the correct answer.

This is in the "crazy credits" pretty safe to say the dog is a Newfoundland:

During the credits, two Newfoundlands are shown, with the following
caption: "No animals were harmed during the filming of this movie. Though
we were petted within an inch of our lives."

Pretty small for a Newfie. Apparently the dog was played by two identical six month old Newfies. So that answers my question about why so small...

Newfoundlands. If you watch the scene where they are watching the documentary t.v. show where the Newfie is jumping from the rescue helecopter into the water, they even say the breed name. Young ones true, but definately Newfie's.

Those Newfies are awesome dogs. Our friend has one and it is wonderful dog, very nice temperament, likes kids, lots of energy, loves the water. No wonder, as mentioned above, the credits says they were petted so much. With their beautiful coat and being such nice dogs you can help petting them.

I love the dog in the movie (Mother Teresa) my favorite part is where Sarah is waiting for Jake to show up and she's lighting candles and tells her "you realize when Jake gets here you'll have to excuse yourself." Just then the doorbell rings and the dog barks. So cute!!!!

Yes they are Nuffies, and they are both beautiful dogs who almost every day enjoy walking on the beach with the Director/Writer/Producer to this day, even though there was only one dog in the movie, they used two for the making of the film, They are happy, healthy and believe me, ENJOYING LIFE TO THE FULLEST, and love playing in and on the beach and water, as well as with other dogs who also enjoy the beach.
Molly and Maeve continue to love their family and extended family of beach friends as well.

Come walk with them sometime...
