Stain on Colle's chin?

I'm,pretty sure it's a tattoo. I've seen tehm mentioned in W African literature. I don't know why some women have them and others don't - I guess it's much the same as in England!

It is indeed a tattoo, purely decorative I believe. I had a professor from Burkina Faso who described it once as an illustration of how beauty standards vary between cultures, but until I saw this movie I couldn't quite picture what she described.

It is a tattoo that extends from the inner gum of your bottom teeth to your outer bottom lip, and is seen as a sign of beauty that women of certain tribes may choose to get as a sign of femininity. it may seem odd at first glance, but when you see women in person with this ink, it does indeed become beautiful
