retired

i thought arnold's retired from acting? how come he's making another film? does he even have the time?

reply

So did i but i think its a tiny part like he did with "around the world in 80 days" talking...no fighting.
Cause if you remember the movie "welcome to the jungle" at the start rock says "think im gonna have trouble here" and schwarzenegger said "you will do fine" and walks out, shows then that hes retired from action.

Yeah, but he hasn't started making that decision yet. He's still the gov of california and yet he made another movie.

actually ive seen a simular picture to that before arnold starting shooting terminator 3 in which is was taken during the time he had his motorcycle accident but if you look on film you can see he looked fantastic in those scenes where he gets his clothes

reply

Sorry changing the subject, but I thought Jamie Lee Curtis was the one who retired?

reply

I agree. Arnie is still Hot!!

reply

md_thebest - That picture is 5 years old, it was after he had heart surgery and was therefore unable to exercise.

But why should he even look great now anyway? He has nothing to prove.... he's already been the worlds best built man 5 times. Hardly like you could say that about yourself.

He is alot more built now than that picture taken 5 years ago.

reply

You tell 'em. Arnie has achieved more than anyone could ever imagine of doing. Anyone have a fairly recent picture of him??
I've got heaps of him but not sure how new they are

reply

he better pull out of politics. it's not his game. he is on the heartless side of things, he better return to his career.

reply

Yeah I agree with you on that one. I love watching him in Action movies. I never get to see him when he's Governor :(

WhooHoo!! That's what I like to hear. Though isn't his body back to being toned now? :P
So they are definitely making a True Lies 2?? I heard they were then nothing happened a couple of years ago. But that's great if they are making a sequel. I love that movie.

He never said that. The Rock walks past and arnie says "have fun" not you will do fine.

reply

Oh no way! He can't retire

The Hollywood reporter!

With the success of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," Regency's biggest bet to date, the company is looking for other big-budget projects. Milchan said there are two or three about to be greenlit. Three such projects are sequels to "True Lies" and "Commando" both starring Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith 2" with Pitt and Angelina.

"True Lies 2" is being developed by James Cameron and his Lightstorm Entertainment with Fox once again distributing the pic. Regency might help fund the film if it becomes too expensive. "True Lies" is a viable franchise much like "Mission:Impossible" and "James Bond". Especially with a huge mega star and mega director.

"True Lies" grossed almost 400 million worldwide back in 1994 and the film has grown a huge audience over the past decade. With all the key players clearing their schedules and the same director coming back, the sequel has become a major tentpole franchise."

"Commando" has become a fan based movie property which makes it a brand name movie now (see commandofans.com) for fan base. In a Maxium Magazine poll done months ago, readers where asked to vote between John Matrix and John Rambo. "Commando" was voted over an iconic character like "Rambo". "If that doesn't reveal how big a fan base "Commando" has gotten over the decades then it should show the popularity of the film."

Further more, it is one of the only R rated action films that spawned successful merchandise back in the 80's and if the upcoming Special Edition sells really well, that would mean there is demand that people love and want to see the governor make "Commando 2". Fox did the first pic with producer Joel Silver but Milchan might step up to finance the big budget sequel.

SOUNDS GOOD 2 ME :)

reply

That's the best news i've heard all day! :)
True Lies and Commando are a couple of my favourite movies so knowing there's sequels is really cool.

reply

lol a sequel to Commando. I'll believe it when I see it.

Ok then, answer me this, how come Leslie Nielsen doesn't even have Airplane II under his list of movies, while Arnold And Jamie Lee do? Plus Arnold did say he would make a cameo and so would Jamie Lee, but if you go to when the movie comes out, under upcoming movies, December 2nd, in the brief bio it say's "and get ready for a True Lies reunion as Jamie Lee Curtis And Arnold Schwarzegner share a scene." I really doubt it will just be footage from the movie. Watch, I'll bet on it.

Let's Go True Lies 2!

Well all I can say, is that I hope there will be sequels. That would be really good to see. Especially True Lies!

My heart pounded when I heard of Schwarzeneggers return to T4 and True Lies, but Commando, wow - I wonder what would of happenned in 87, if Arnie had not turned down the role for Commando II - which later became Die Hard...

So What The Fuss - Stevie Wonder

reply

I reckon he could do True Lies 2 but Commando 2 sounds a bit too much, now at this age. I don't think Commando 2 would be as good as the one in 1985. Back then, such movies made you go ooooh, aaaaah, wow, and you really meant it. now those kind of action scenes just look cheesy. how doesn't crack up when watching commando?
true lies is still an awesome action thriller that could still hold up today. so if they improved on a few things, it could become of the best action movies of the year. i hope they don't wait too long though till they get to the point where they'll say "ah, just screw it". and i hope eliza dushku reprises her role, she's so hot these days, i demand her in it ;)
