The Red Carpet Premiere

First of all, I have to say that I was sorely disappointed in the residents of Kalamazoo for not showing more support for the Red Carpet Premiere. I have followed all the hard work the sisters have done in trying to promote this movie and have been just about as excited as they were for being able to have the initial showing here in Kalamazoo. I showed up at 5:45 for the 6pm Red Carpet Premiere so that I would be able to get a good position to take pictures and perhaps talk to the stars of the movie. I thought I must have had the wrong time as there was NO ONE THERE. By the time the 4 primary actors arrived in the red Mustang from the movie, there might have been about 30 people there. Pathetic. This was a big deal. A HUGE event for Kalamazoo. And the peak of the premiere had only about 80 people show up. Again, pathetic. I was not able to stay for the midnight showing (I had to be at work at 7am) but I did go on saturday to the 2:30pm showing, and who should happen to be behind me? The father of Joanna and Dana. And we were at the end of the line waiting to get in the theatre. THERE WAS A LINE PEOPLE! Kalamazoo finally came out to show support. It was awesome. And according to the sisters dad, the movie was selling out at every theatre is was showing. THAT is what I am talking about.

Go see the movie. I won't say that it is a classic, or that it is the best movie I have ever seen. Or even that it is the best movie I have seen this year. But it is good. It does have heart, and humor, and reality.

Congratulations girls --- you did it.

Well said!, I have to say that the red carpet event was a lot of fun even though the crowd was thin, I was curious why a lot more people didn't show up to see the stars? Then I asked around and most people didn't know about it. I wonder if the gazette had a article or the radio had a plug about it? I guess it's just me but when some Hollywood people are in town and I have a chance to see and maybe talk with them it's not much of a question about going. A long time ago I saw Dan Haggerty (grizzly Adams) at a blockbuster video store opening and I thought that was cool. I still have his autograph. I agree the movie was very good and the show I was at Friday at 7 was sold out and there was a big line to get into the 9:15 show as we exited. I was thrilled to see that. We at the 7 show had a special treat with Josie Davis, Mayim Bialik, Joanna Clare Scott, Michael Boatman, Dana Kowalski and David O'Mally came in at the end to thank everyone for coming and take any questions we had then they signed soundtrack Cd's in the lobby, I can't think of any film I have ever heard of that has treated the movie goers in that way! I've seen it twice now and my wife has been 3 times, We our hoping to see it again. Ron

Nobody showed up because the movie is horrible. The way the so called stars acted towards the city of Kalamazoo is terrible. In fact I tell people not to go see the movie. DOWN WITH KALAMAZOO?

Side note is it me or did blossum get huge!

I don't usually reply to posts like this but since I happen to know that the movie was in fact very good and the stars treated Kalamazoo just great I thought I would let people know that the above post is way out of line and rude. Oh and Mayim Bialik (Blossom) looks great and is a real nice person to talk with. http://www.pbase.com/chevellecazcaz/image/58303722

Right on Kazman!!!
Sounds like someone's a little jealous, maybe???
The whole cast and crew are great, and the movie has actually been #1 in Michigan for 2 weeks running. AND, did you know that The NY Times posted Kalamazoo? It got very good reviews:) Now 'that's' a big deal for a small movie!
I bet "dickeyryde" (wow! what a name?) has never made a movie......Hmmmm????
ps.......Mayim is just a bitty little thing now, isn't she Kazman??? And soooo nice, too..........
