Accents?

I haven't seen the movie, but I've seen the trailer, and most of the people sound like they're from New York or something. Can someone who's seen the movie explain what's up with that?

If this is a true statement, we should not assume that all the characters in the film are natives of Kalamazoo or anywhere else in Michigan for that matter. Take under consideration that one of Kalamazoo's largest employers at the time the reuniting class graduated was Upjon which employed transplants from all over the world.

Yes, the character who plays Mrs. Goldman (Joanne Baron) has a thick Jewish Noo Yaawk(NY)accent as does Maggie Goldman(Mayim Bialik). Everybody else just keeps you guessing. I've only seen the movie once and since it's not currently being shown anywhere, I don't have the opportunity to study this aspect further. MAYBE... it will be on DVD in my lifetime.
