Very disappointing

A colleague highly recomended this film to me, so I gave it a try.
I must say I was very disappointed. I felt for none of the characters and could not get how anyone should fall in love with Joze who is harsh on the outside, and on the inside she's also... harsh and aggressive. She has no gentle or a loving side, she doesn't really care or shows any interest in understanding the feelings or needs of her boyfriend.

I know there are certain movies that strangely touches you, although you cannot rationally explain yourself why you're moved, and I guess this movie struck a chord with many people, especially in Korea I've heard.
But for me it did nothing.

4 out of 10.

she was aggressive because she always kind of knew he was doing it out of charity.
even when her "son" asks her why she is meeting his parents and eventually marrying him she says that's not going to happen. it was clear to her he wasnt going through with it.
i think she was just seeing what it felt like to be normal, but always knew it was not going to last.as her grandma always told her, she was not a normal person.

this movie was extremely good, but also extremely sad.

Wow four years later!:). Anyways i agree with webmistah, deep down she knew it had only one ending. In some way she was damaged, the wake up call was when he snapped at her in the car when she was acting all cute. Followed by him hugging her in the toilet, trying to hold on..but it was too late. The ending was amazing, that close up shot of her..the sadness in eyes sniff*.

Great movie, really loved it.

The wake up call for who? For him? if for him the "wake up call" was when his brother called and asked who chickened out. I don't really see how it was for her either since, every relationship has it's ups and downs. And honestly theirs was all up till 3 months passed, and having your boyfriend snap at you once is hardly a foreshadowing of your ending relationship.

I was loving the movie (minus the lovemaking scenes) until out of no where 3 months pass and they break up. Honestly out of no where. In what way weren't they getting along? Ya he didn't have the balls to bring her out to his parents place, but you figure he would slowly grow a pair. What gripes me the most is the fact they didn't properly explain why they didn't work. The whole movie is moving in one direction then with 10 minutes left in the movie goes in the complete opposite direction. Totally ruined, for me, what could have been a very memorable movie.

*SPOILERS*

I just watched it for the 1st time today and i thought it was good. The only part i didn't really like was that he went off with the other girl at the end.

I'm not exactly sure what I expected from this movie, but I was disappointed with the ending. I wasn't expecting glitter and rainbows, but I was pretty disgusted with him leaving with that other girl. They weren't the same characters they were at the beginning, but the change (to me) wasn't worth the time. I wasn't particularly enamored with any of the characters, either. It was a very realistic movie. The last 20 minutes or so gave me the same feeling as listening to a friend complain about the disintegration of their relationship.

I think they were just friends. His internal monologue goes something like, "with some girls, you can still be friends once you break up. But Josee is not that kind of girl. I don't think I'll ever see her again." The implication is that the other girl is the kind of girl you'll just be friends with after you break up.
