Will this be released in ENGLISH LANGUAGE???

So tired of these movies that you have to "READ", if I wanted to read something, I would get a book. I have yet to see PASSION OF CHRIST, because it is not in ENGLISH LANGUAGE.

reply

With all respect *beep* you. You are an idiot, please do as all a favor and go drown yourself.

movies that you have to read are usually "SUBTITLED" for the reason that they are in other language as in this movie is in Finnish and Chinese.
ITS IN THOSE LANGUAGES BECAUSE IT IS MADE IN THOSE COUNTRIES.

reply

Ummm...ya know the one thing that I really hate, is dubbed movies. When I watch a movie I want it to be in its original language. I want ORIGINAL voices, not some crappy english voices that never match the characters, it just sounds like sh!t!

reply

Amen

reply

Me too but I wish they'd show it here with english subbing too. Cause I think they'll probably show it only with swedish subtitles and finnish and swedish when they're talking Chinese. I don't think they'll show an english subtitle version in the cinemas. Too bad cause there are a lot of us immigrants. Will have to wait for a DVD which will hopefuly have english subtitles(other Finnish movies do so we'll be ok)

And a lot of us who prefer either the finnish or the swedish subtitles

Hee hee. Of course.

Well, you can watched the movie when they dubbed it for the DVD release...

Trouble is, in multi-lingual movies like this one, it doesn't make sense to dub them into just ONE language-- I mean, if they dub Finnish into English, are they going to dub Mandarin/Chinese into Spanish or use some kind of foreign accent or something?

How do we show the cross-cultural differences if we pretend that everybody speaks English? Or maybe we should hide those differences?

reply

What's wrong with subtitles? Don't know if it's just me, but I find it more relaxing to watch movies with subtitles. When watching movies in my language (Finnish) you have to stay sharp all the time so you can hear what they are saying.

If you have subtitles it doesn't matter if the actors articulate badly or speak in a quiet voice or use a incomprehensible dialect. Maybe I'm just too used to subtitles. Don't you English speaking people ever have troubles following a fast dialogue?

reply

Yeah, I hate dubs. Can't stand them. Subtitles are the best. In English speaking movies though, I don't mind if there aren't any cause I understand english very well. Sure wish there are english in Jadesoturi though cause my Finnish is still pathetic.

Oh god, I hate dubbed movies! :) If possible I want to see the orginal versions of even children's movies (that are mostly dubbed). I'm so glad that they don't dub pretty much anything (well, some children's programs) in here, it looks and sounds so stupid! :)
