People's History Doc.

I've read about the attempted documentary of a People's History of the United States. I've also heard about how much the project has stalled. It'd be great if we could get it going again, maybe by writing to whoever owns the rights? also, does anyone know the chances of doing the giant documentary series, like 10 hours, instead of a shorter chunk?

They need to make a good documentary about the populists. It's imperative.

I think you might be talking about about a mini-series dramatic adaptation of the book that Matt Damon and Ben Afleck, in cahoots with Zinn were going to bring to HBO, not a documentary. I'm still wondering about that myself. In fact, the last time I last heard anything about this was at least 2 or 3 years ago. What happened to this? A 10 part mini-series on HBO!!! Talk about spreading the word to the masses.

Anyway, this ( "...Moving Train" ) was sposed to come out last year, but it didn't make it over here. The DVD will come out tomorrow.

In Canada there was a 16-part tv series titled "Canada: A People's History", so I think you could easily do a thorough treatment like that for the US.

Would probably make for great tv, too.
