Deleting game data makes games work better?

I've found that after deleting game data from your ps2 memory card the games actually work better.Why is that?

I did it with Mortal Kombat:Deception...

And now I've done it with God of War.I was actually at the Traps of Madness,but didn't have any magic.

Well,you DON'T have to push the stone block under the ledge to reach the ledge.A video on Youtube shows that all you have to do it walk up to the ledge and press:L1+X,L2,L1+SQUARE,X,X and after that you would have jumped high enough to reach the ledge.

I'm now at the Gates of Athens and am having trouble jumping from the ledge to the crate.A walkthrough stated that I should jump straight for the crate that has a cargo net on it.Is that true?

I should have known those alien maggots booby trapped this sub.
