Okay, I don't know that I'm intelligent, but here goes anyway.
First, there are a few things that have to be in place if you could get as built as Kratos. If you don't have the bone density, or the large skeletal structure to begin with, you can't get as big as him. It's not possible. You're gonna have to work with what you have.
Of course you have to lift every other day, steadily increasing the weight as you go. People don't put on muscle at the same rate, so it might get discourage. Bench pressing will make you strong, and push ups will too, but it won't do much for the appearance. Kratos has huge biceps, so you're gonna be doing a lot of curls. There's a seated machine at gyms where you can push up at an angle. It's rough, but that's what will give you pectoral muscle like kratos- in a lot of time. Do abdominal exercises, and work the obliques as well. This is important, because it won't look right if you have chiseled arms and pecs, but weak abs. Work on your triceps, because those muscles play a role in having a good range of movement. There are machines that work on your deltoids but be careful -and I'm totally serious, pay attention to this- don't over work them or you get rotator cuff damage. Nutrition wise, you might want to look into whey protein shakes, and watch your carb intake. If you just can't get that cut look, try water pills, but SPARINGLY, as those can be extremely dangerous. In fact... maybe don't take water pills.
Basically, in a nut shell, your doing intensive body building. It's a hell of an undertaking. It's very hard for some people to get as big as Kratos, and I don't wanna discourage you, but it's not ideal for some guys' body types. I've seen guys come into the same gym for years, and just kill themselves on the weights, and not get really built. I also hate to tell you this, but a lot of it is genetics- some people have the natural physique that gains upper body muscle quickly. If you can afford it, get a personal trainer- that's what they usually know the most about, is body building.
Good luck, and if you work hard, you might not ever be on the same level as Kratos, but you'll probably be happy with the results.
